How to edit the duration of an absence?

Easily adjust the duration of an absence in Combo for accurate tracking of hours and correct payroll.

Updated this week

How is an absence calculated?

By default, the duration of an absence (excluding paid leave) is calculated as:

Weekly working hours ÷ Number of working days per week

🔎 Example: Paul has a 35h contract over 5 days and is absent for 3 days:

  • 35h ÷ 5 = 7h per day

  • 3 days × 7h = 21h absence

This is the value deducted, unless you modify it manually.

How to edit the duration of an absence in the schedule?

  • Once the absence is entered, click on it in the published schedule

  • Click the blue pen to the right of the hour duration

  • Enter the new duration in the Revalued hours field (in decimal format)

  • Confirm

Special cases and exceptions

Absence covering a full week

The duration corresponds to the weekly hours, not editable.

Absence from the 1st to the last day of the month

The calculation is based on the monthly contractual time (e.g., 151.67h for 35h/week) if the payroll period strictly covers these dates.

Absences covered by Social Security (sick leave, occupational illness, maternity/paternity/parental leave, partial unemployment)

May be valued at 0h.

Absence on a rest day

Automatically valued at 0h. If you change it, days will be forced into the payroll report.

Paid leave

Managed in days (same for all), not hours. The absence duration is calculated as:
Weekly working hours ÷ Number of working/ business days
