Once you have the Combo time-clock app installed on your tablet (Android or iOs), contact us to enable the "time clock" option in your account. You'll be able to log in with your unique time-clock ID, and you're done!

We recommend using a tablet with at least iOS version 14, or Android version 11.

How do your employees clock-in ?

With the Combo time-clock, you can record the arrival and departure times of your employees in real time.

  • When your employees arrive at their workplace, they check in.

  • At the end of their shift, they sign out, again on the time clock to report their departure. They can even enter their break times.

To do this, it couldn't be easier !

They sign in (and a picture is taken only if the option is enabled).

1 - Your employee clicks on their name, to indicate their arrival/departure time. A window will pop up, showing the arrival/departure time.

2 - Your employee signs (and a picture is taken only if the option is enabled).

How do your employees appear on the time-clock ?

There are 3 cases :

  • If your employee clocks in and out normally, they appear on the time clock 2 hours before their shift and disappear from the dashboard 30 minutes after their shift ends.

For example : Daniel's shift begins at 9.30 am and finishes at 12pm. He will appear on the time-clock from 7.30 am and disappear at 12.30pm.

  • If your employee clocks in his arrival time but not his departure time, they disappear from the dashboard 4h after their shift supposedly ends.

For example : Daniel clocks in at 9.29am and forgets to check out. He will disappear from the time-clock at 4pm.

  • If your employee doesn't clock in at all, they disappear from the dashboard 30 minutes after their shift supposedly ends.

For example : Daniel doesn't clock in at 9.30 am, he will therefore disappear from the time-clock at 12.30pm.

Good to know :

  • If your employee does not appear on the time-clock, feel free to check that the schedule is published and that their shift is not scheduled at another location.

  • If you have a last minute change in your schedule, your employee can still clock-in with the feature Clock-in without a scheduled shift enabled (this will depend on your settings, to find out how to set it up. Go here 👈).

How to manage your employees' breaks ?

If you schedule one or more breaks during the same shift for your employee, they will be able to clock in and out of them without any problems during or at the end of their shift (this will depend on your settings. Find out more here👈).

How to manage clock-ins that differ from the schedule ?

Here's how you can manage lateness, arriving prematurely for the shift as well as when an employee finishes earlier or later.

  • If an employee arrives early or late, additionally to the signature (and the picture taken if the option is enabled), you can require an employee's justification : a small window will pop up for them to enter a message justifying this tardiness/earliness to their manager.

  • If this option is enabled, then the justification will be required to validate the arrival or departure time if the person is late or early.

It's not clear ? Okay, let's sum it up :

How to validate shifts on the time-clock report ?

You can find all the Combo time-clock data in your time-clock report once the shift has passed :

  • Signature

  • Picture (if the option is enabled)

  • Arrival and departure time

  • Break time

  • Comment if the employee is early or late

If the clock-ins correspond to reality, you can validate them !

If you wish to change the default time saved, simply click "Done / To be processed" on the relevant shift and fill in the actual time of the shift and breaks before submitting.

To learn more about the validation of worked hours, it's right here !

How to validate shifts on the schedule ?

On the schedule you can still validate hours as you normally would! Breaks as well! It's your choice!

If you prefer to validate your employees' work hours on the schedule as per usual, it's possible. You can update breaks as need be.

We will show you how to do it right here, but don't hesitate to click here if you need more information :
