There are two different ways to handle early departure depending on the reason and your internal organization.

Let's take Grégoire’s example, he was scheduled from 9am to 5pm but left at 3pm.

1. If you want to deduct the two hours from his pay :

  • Validate the actual hours of the shift by adding the hours actually worked by the employee

  • Create a new absence on the same day with either "Justified absence" or "Unjustified absence" as the absence type. To know more about the difference between these two types of absences, you can check this article 👈

  • Indicate the scheduled hours not completed.

For example: Grégoire was scheduled from 9am to 5pm. He left at 3pm. You will have to fill in 9am to 3pm in actual hours and create an absence from 3pm to 5pm.

Good to know : If a conflicting hours alert appears, don’t worry, it is not blocking! It is simply based on the planned schedules.

2. If you think that the hours will be caught up later on and you are operating with smoothed hours :

  • Validate the actual hours of the shift according to the hours actually worked and do nothing more !

  • Smoothing hours allows you to compensate the missing hours of one week with the overtime of another week during the same pay period. To understand how it works, it's this way 👈
