What is the difference between justified and unjustified absence?
Both justified and unjustified absences are unpaid absences and are deducted from the payroll.
The only difference is operational :
Justified absence are used if the employee has informed the manager and if the reason is valid.
Unjustified absence are used if the employee has not informed the manager or if the reason is not valid. Unjustified absence may result in a sanction.
How to add the absences on the schedule ?
1) The employee didn’t show up for the shift
Click on the shift ;
Check the button "Did not show up" next to "Actual hours” ;
Choose the type of absence you want to add ;
Validate.
2) The employee came to work, but left earlier than planned:
Validate the actual hours of the shift according to the hours actually worked;
Create a new absence on the same day;
Choose "Justified absence" or "Unjustified absence” as the type of absence ;
Fill in the hours that were not worked.
For example : Gregoire was scheduled from 2pm to 6pm. He left at 4pm. You will have to fill in 2pm to 4pm in actual hours and create an absence from 4pm to 6pm.
Note : The conflicting hours alerts are based on the scheduled time. You can ignore them, these are not blocking!
