Lock/Unlock a Payroll Period
Once the payrolls for the month have been set up, don't forget to lock your pay period to prevent any changes on the schedules.

Why lock a pay period ?

Locking your pay period allows you to prevent any modification on the schedule and contracts of your employees concerned by this period:

  • On the schedule :

    The days included in the locked pay period are displayed in yellow with a padlock. Locked weeks can still be viewed but can't be modified:

  • In your employees profile :

    If a locked pay period is in between the start and end date of your employee's contract, then the weelky contracted hours and the beginning of the contract date aren't amendable.

    If you wish to edit this information, you will have to unlock all to pay periods since their contract start date.

For example : If you wish to edit the weekly contract hours for an employee who started working in January 2021 ? You will have to unlock all the pay periods since January 2021.

💡 Good to know : Only admins and directors can lock and unlock a pay period.


How to lock a pay period?

Go to Reports :

  • In the Payroll tab, click on "Lock the period".

  • Confirm the lock in the pop up window.

💡 Good to know : It's impossible to lock more than one period at a time.


How to unlock a pay period?

Go to Reports :

  • Move your cursor over the "Locked on" button to unlock your pay period

  • Confirm the unlocking in the pop up window.

💡 Good to know :

  • It's impossible to unlock more than one period at a time.

  • The pay period will automatically lock itself within 24 hours after being unlocked.

  • If you want to change the dates in your pay period, you will have to delete it and create a new one with the desired dates.
