How to Lock or Unlock a Payroll Period?

Lock a payroll period to freeze your data, or temporarily unlock it if a change is needed.

How to lock a payroll period

Locking prevents any modifications to the schedule and contracts during that period.

From Reports:

  • Tick the desired period (or use the master selection)

  • Click Lock

💡 Once the payroll period is locked:

  • Schedule: days are frozen and non-editable (🔒 icon)

  • Contracts: working time, specifics, and start date are locked (greyed out + lock icon)

  • To modify a contract, you must unlock all the payroll periods from the contract start date until today.


How to unlock a payroll period

From Reports:

  • Tick the desired period (or use the master selection)

  • Click Unlock payroll period

  • Repeat the action if multiple pages of periods are concerned

💡

  • Only admins and directors can lock/unlock.

  • Unlocking is temporary (24h).

  • To modify the dates of a period, you must delete it and then recreate it.
