How to create or edit a schedule from the Combo mobile app?

The Combo mobile app allows management teams to oversee schedules and adjust team organisation directly from the field.

How does the schedule display work on mobile?

Difference between a published and unpublished schedule

On the mobile app, you can work on your schedules at any time. The interface displays visual indicators to show whether your employees can see the shifts or not:

  • Unpublished Schedule (Draft): Shifts are invisible to employees. You are free to edit the schedule from both the web app and the mobile app.

  • Published Schedule: Shifts are visible to employees in real time on their mobile app. As a manager or director, the permission "Can edit published schedules and validate shifts for their establishment" must be enabled on your profile by your employer if you wish to make changes to the schedule.

Display customisation and filters

To tailor the schedule view to your needs, tap the filter icon at the bottom right of the Schedule tab.

The 3 available sorting modes:

  • Chronological view: Lists all shifts for the day in order of start time.

  • Employee view: Groups shifts by employee, sorted alphabetically.

  • Tag view: Groups shifts by position/tag (alphabetical order, then chronological order by time).

Available display filters: You can toggle items on or off to declutter your screen:

  • Unassigned shifts,

  • Shifts from other establishments,

  • Absences,

  • Availabilities.

How to create a new shift on the mobile app?

Go to the Schedule tab:

  • Tap the "+" icon.

  • Fill in the details: the team, the employee's name, the date, the start and end time, break or meal times, and the tag (position).

  • Choose whether to notify the employee of the new shift if the schedule is published.

  • Tap Create shift to confirm.

How to edit an existing shift on the mobile app?

Go to the Schedule tab:

  • Select the shift you want to edit from the upcoming shifts.

  • Tap Edit scheduled shift.

  • Adjust the relevant details, then tap Save.

Note: If the week's schedule is already published, the change is immediately visible to the employee and updates their app.

How to delete a shift on the mobile app?

Go to the Schedule tab:

  • Select the relevant shift from the upcoming shifts.

  • Scroll down and tap Delete shift.

How to manage unassigned shifts (vacant shifts) on the mobile app?

  • Converting a regular shift into an unassigned shift: If an employee cancels, edit their shift, select "Unassigned" in the "Employee" field, then save. The shift is automatically moved to the team's unassigned shifts row.

  • Converting an unassigned shift into a regular shift: Click on the vacant shift from the dedicated section at the top of your schedule, select the chosen employee's name from the list, then save. The shift is instantly assigned to them.

🛠️ Important notes:

  • The features covered in this article (Create, Edit, Delete, Filter) are strictly reserved for Manager, Director, and Administrator profiles.

  • For managers and directors to have access, the permission "Can edit published schedules and validate shifts for their establishment" must be enabled on their profile from the web interface.

  • The mobile app only allows you to manage upcoming shifts. If a manager attempts to edit or delete a shift from yesterday or earlier, the app will block the action. This can be done from the web version instead.

  • The bulk publication of an entire week (to send the full schedule to the whole team at once) cannot be done on mobile. It can only be performed on the web version.
