How to request time off from the Combo mobile app?

The Combo mobile app allows all users (employees, managers, directors, and administrators) to submit their leave or absence requests and track their status.

How to send an absence request from the mobile app?

To request leave, an unavailability, or a family event from your smartphone, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Combo mobile app and go to the Account tab, then tap Submit an absence request (Faire une demande d'absence).

  2. Choose the type of absence: Select the reason from the drop-down list (Paid leave, Unpaid leave, Temporary unavailability, Family event, RTT - if eligible).

    Note on Family Events (Available reasons): Birth/adoption, Onset of a child's disability, Death (child, parent, grandparent, parent-in-law, sibling, spouse/partner), Child's wedding, Wedding/Civil partnership (PACS), Sick child.

  3. Specify the dates: Enter the exact start and end dates of your absence.

  4. Add a comment (Optional): Write a useful note for the person who will approve your schedule (e.g., "Medical appointment" or "Summer vacation").

  5. Tap the Submit request button.


How to track and understand your request status?

Once submitted, the request will appear in the Upcoming absence requests list on your profile.

"Pending" Status

The request has been recorded and is waiting to be processed by a manager.

"Approved" Status

The absence is approved. The schedule updates automatically (shifts scheduled during this period are deleted or adjusted). You will receive a confirmation push notification.

"Denied" Status

The request has been rejected. You will receive a push notification. If no reason for the rejection is provided, please contact your manager directly to discuss it.


How to modify or cancel an absence?

If the request is still "Pending"

All roles can independently cancel their own requests directly from the mobile app by tapping the pending request in question, then selecting Cancel request.

If the request is already "Approved"

The absence request has already been approved. To cancel or modify it, you must contact a manager so they can delete the absence directly from the schedule.

🛠️ Important Notes

  • Universal Article: This guide applies to all users without exception for submitting their own absence requests.

  • Hidden Counters: Paid leave and RTT counters are not accessible from the mobile app.

  • Absence Management Matrix by Role:

    • Manager: A manager cannot process the absence request of another manager.

    • Director: A director cannot process the absence request of another director.

    • Admin: An admin can process the absence request of another admin. They can also process and self-approve their own absence requests.

    • Owner: Can accept and process all absence requests made on the account.
