How to Get an Employee to Electronically Sign a Contract?

Have a contract signed online, either from an employee’s profile or from the HR page, and track the signature progress in real time.

How to send a contract from the employee’s profile

From the employee profile > Documents tab:

  • Add the document:

    • Import a document: if the file is already on your computer and doesn’t need modification.

    • Generate a document: based on an existing template in Combo

  • Start the signature process: click Electronically Sign

  • Configure the request:

    • Add up to 100 signatories

    • Choose Sign one after the other if the order matters

    • Enable options: signature placement, initials, “read and approved” mention

    • Place signature fields: each signatory gets a colored rectangle that you drag-and-drop

  • Validate to send

💡 To cancel the request: click on the document, then Cancel the signature request.


How to send a contract from the HR page

From the HR page > Document signing section:

  • Click New signature request

  • Import the document and give it a title

  • Select the employee (the document will also appear under Documents in their profile)

  • Click Import the document

  • Configure the signature:

    • Add signatories (up to 100)

    • Choose Sign one after the other if necessary

    • Enable options and place signature fields

  • Validate to send

💡 To cancel a sent request: click the three dots (⋮) > View details > Cancel signature request.


How to understand signature status

Status

Meaning

✅ Signed

All signatories have signed; the document is ready to download.

Pending

At least one signatory has not yet signed. You can resend via email if automatic reminder is not enabled.

❌ Failed

The delivery didn’t succeed (e.g. file too large). Recreate the request.

💡 Directors and admins can download the signature proofs from HR > Document signing.
