With the automatic break feature you can :

  • Set up a default break time each time a shift is created

  • Set up a default break time after a certain number of hours worked within the shift

  • Define a default break time based on a set percentage

Convenient right 💡

Good to know :

  • The functionality is available to admins and directors only

  • You can set up your collective agreement here 👈, and feel free to click on “see this collective agreements rules” to find out the maximum hours worked without a break !

Setting up a default break time in minutes

Go to Settings > Locations & schedules > Scheduling :

  • Check "Set a default break" to activate the option

  • Select the calculation in minutes

  • Indicate the break time in minutes

  • Indicate the duration in hours from which the break must be triggered in Minimum shift duration for automatic breaks
If you want a break to be added each time a shift is created, enter 0h.

Good to know :

  • If you do not want to assign a default break to the creation of your shifts, you can un-check the option "Set a default break".

  • If you edit an already created shift, and the shift exceeds the minimum duration, there is no automatic break added.

  • The automatic break only applies if an individual shift exceeds the set minimum duration. If your shifts follow each other, an alert will appear if no breaks have been scheduled.
