How to define whether breaks are paid?
Go to Settings > Preferences:
Check or uncheck the Breaks are paid option.
Checked: breaks are automatically counted as working time.
Unchecked: breaks added within a shift are deducted from the effective working time.
💡 This setting applies to the entire account, across all locations.
How to configure break settings by location?
Go to Settings > Locations and Schedules > Your location > Scheduling:
Enable the option: check Apply a default break duration when creating a shift.
Choose the attribution mode:
By number of minutes → enter a fixed duration (e.g. 30 min).
By percentage → enter a percentage of the total shift duration (e.g. 10% of a 6h shift = 36 min).
Set the minimum shift duration from which the break is added (e.g. 4h).
Save your settings.

💡
To force a systematic break on every shift creation, enter a minimum duration equal to your break duration + 1 minute (e.g. 21 min for a 20-min break).
Breaks apply only to individual shifts exceeding the defined minimum duration.
The break is applied only when the shift is created, not when it is edited afterwards.
