The Combo Time Clock is an essential tool for recording working hours, breaks, and meals. But what happens when there’s no Internet connection? Can it still be used without Wi-Fi? In this article, we explain exactly how to use the Combo Time Clock in offline mode, what its limitations are, and how to ensure smooth data synchronization.
Can the Combo Time Clock app work without Internet?
Yes, the tablet can still be used on a daily basis even without an active Wi-Fi connection. Employees can clock in for their shifts, breaks, meals, and check-outs as usual.
However, an Internet connection is required for three key actions:
Logging in to the personal account
Sending clock-in data to the Combo web platform
Updating information from Combo (team changes, schedule updates, user permissions…)
This means that if you make a change in your Combo interface, it won’t be visible immediately on the tablet if it's offline.
How to prepare for reconnection and secure offline data?
The tablet stores clock-in data locally for up to 72 hours. This gives you enough time to restore the Wi-Fi connection without risking data loss.
💡 After 72 hours, any data collected offline is automatically deleted and cannot be recovered.
As soon as the Wi-Fi connection is restored, data synchronization starts automatically.
Pending clock-ins are sent, and any updates from Combo are applied to the tablet.
To speed things up, it is strongly recommended to manually refresh the tablet, ensuring that all data is correctly updated.
