Are you attached to the Fast Food collective agreement (IDCC 1501) ?

We'll explain the essential rules depending on your collective agreement.

If your employees have been with the company for at least 10 months, they are entitled to 10 guaranteed public holidays : 1st January, Easter Monday, 8th May, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, 14th July, Assumption Day, All Saints' Day, 11th November and Christmas Day.

  • If your employee works on a public holiday : the day is paid or compensated (by a day off or a day of rest to be taken at a later date).

  • If your employee is normally on weekly rest : The employee is not entitled to additional compensation or additional leave.

  • If your employee is on a rest day because you are closing your business : The day is not worked, and there is no deduction from pay.

Good to know : Ideally, compensation should be prioritized. If it is not possible for the employee to recover the day before the end of the calendar period (31st December), then the employee will have to be compensated for the public holiday.
