Let's head to the payroll report in the "worked hours" column :

The theoretical contract

Every month, your employees works a different number of hours, because every month have a different number of working days. But this does not affect the salary they receive each month.

The theoretical contract corresponds to this number of hours each month (time of the weekly contract * 4.3333).

Example for Martin Jacquot : 35h * 4,3333 = 151h40

Good to know : this figure is simply an indicative number that must not be taken into account in the calculation of missing or extras hours.

Worked hours

This is the number of worked hours from the 1st day to the last day in your payroll period.
To calculate it, we add the hours of actual work, training and medical exam.

Breaks are deduced from the payroll, if the option "Breaks are paid" is unmarked in the Preferences part of your account.

📌 Worked hours are calculated day to day. This figure must not be taken into account to calculate the overtime and missing hours, that are calculated weekly.

Normal hours

Normal hours are paid hours in addition to the weekly contract hours which aren't considered overtime and are due to an absence..

These are hours that are paid at the standard hourly rate, without any pay increase.

📌 Normal hours are calculated weekly and are observed by Sunday evening.

Missing hours

Missing hours are due to underplanning. These hours have to be paid to the employee because it is the employer's responsibility to schedule his/her employee's on the weekly contract hours.

📌 Missing hours are calculated weekly and are observed by Sunday evening.

To calculate them, we deduce worked hours and every type of absence / time off from the weekly worked time.

Compensated hours for a part-time employee

In France, this overtime is due to hours worked by part-timers over their contract and up to 35 hours.

The percentage of compensation depends on the collective agreement of your establishment.

📌 Overtime hours for a part time employee are calculated weekly and are observed by Sunday evening.

Good to know : according to the L3123-17 article of the Labour Code in France, a part-time employee can't work 35h or more, even punctually, otherwise the employee can ask the upgrading of his/her contract to be a full-time contract. There are some exceptions (modulation of working time or company agreement).

Compensated overtime hours

In France, this overtime is due to full-time workers over 35 hours worked weekly and if a part-timer works more than 35 hours a week.

The percentage of compensation depends on the collective agreement of your establishment.

📌 Overtime hours for a part time employee are calculated weekly and are observed by Sunday evening.

Good to know : the trigger for overtime is the legal working time, not the employment contract.

An employee who has a 39 hour weekly contract will be paid 35 hours + 4 hours overtime. These 4 hours will appear in the accounting export but not on the web report.

Public holiday compensation

These are compensated hours that are due when an employee works on a Public Holiday. This depends onthe collective agreement that fixes the required seniority to benefit from it and the compensation percentage.

For example: In France, in the HCR collective agreement (Hotels, Cafés and Restaurants), worked hours on a Public Holiday are compensated after 12 months of seniority, where as they are compensated after 10 months in the fast food collective agreement.

French Labor Day compensation (May 1st)

This column only appears in the payroll period including the 1st of May. It shows the worked hours, the medical exam, the training hours realized on this day.

Premium night hours

The period considered as night time as well as the increase percentage is defined by the collective agreement.

Are you working with adjusted overtime hours?

On the top left, you can activate the adjusted hours by marking "Adjusted overtime": with this option, overtime hours of one week can compensate missing hours from another week.

This is common practice but it doesn't respect the Labour Code in France.
